
One person has died and several others sustained serious injuries following a head-on collision involving two bakkies at the Namakgale entrance on the R71 road early this morning.
A white Toyota Hilux and a white Ford Ranger collided head-on near the entrance to Namakgale. According to preliminary reports, one of the vehicles, reportedly heading towards Gravelotte, failed to stop and crashed into another vehicle that was stationary on the left lane, heading towards Phalaborwa town.
Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene. One passenger from the Toyota Hilux was certified dead at the scene, while the injured were transported to Maphutha Malatji Hospital for medical attention.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
