His family members, Tebogo Malesa and Patience Malesa, in Phalaborwa, went to great lengths to reunite with him. They arranged transportation to take him home, but their attempts were met with unexpected challenges.
Initially, they took him to the taxi rank, but the driver refused to transport him. Undeterred, they organised a special vehicle to take him home. However, when they reached Pretoria, Mbaleni Malesa’s behaviour became erratic. He started opening doors while the car was moving, indicating that he no longer wanted to return home. The driver, frustrated with the situation, eventually dropped him off at the Tembisa Engen Garage.
Despite the family’s pleas, Mbaleni Malesa refused to return home with them. It appears that he has grown accustomed to his life on the streets, begging for sustenance.
After being dropped off, he headed towards the Olifantsfontein area, leaving his family to worry about his well-being.
