A heartbreaking incident unfolded yesterday, November 17, 2024, in the Ngwaritsi River, Sekhukhune District, where two children lost their lives while attempting to fish. Three children, aged 9-14, ventured into the river despite initial reservations.
The 14-year-old and 9-year-old, unable to swim, tragically drowned. A woman intervened, preventing the third child from entering the water.
The community swiftly retrieved the two lifeless bodies from the river. Thoughts are with the families and loved ones during this difficult time.
