Calamity has befallen the community of Phalaborwa following the untimely death of promising young student activist and local ANC Youth League leader, Goodwill Mokgathedi. Affectionately known as “Head of the Family,” Mokgathedi was a respected and passionate youth leader with a bright future ahead.
He had been battling illness since the Easter holidays. His passing was confirmed today, though the exact cause of death remains unclear. Some comrades have expressed concern that it may have been due to alcohol poisoning, but no official information has been released.
The community is now anxiously awaiting the results of the autopsy to shed light on what led to the tragic loss. Until then, friends, family, and fellow activists are left with questions and heavy hearts.
