Agreement Mkhari 
Members of Operation Vala Umgodi arrested two suspects, aged 31 and 50, for illegal mining activities on Saturday, 26 April 2025, at Hlaneki Village in the Giyani policing area.
The team was conducting patrols when they noticed suspicious mining activities. They approached the sites tactically and arrested the two suspects who were found mining illegally at separate locations.
During the arrest, police confiscated three shovels, two pickaxes, one spade, and suspected precious minerals.
The suspects are expected to appear soon before the Giyani Magistrate’s Court.
