The University of Venda proudly congratulates Tsundzuka Hakamela on his permanent appointment as International Students Administrator in the Directorate of International Relations and Partnership, effective 1 March 2025.
Hakamela, a UNIVEN alumnus, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies and is currently pursuing his Master’s in Political Science. His deep connection with the institution includes serving as SRC President, where he was known for his dedication and leadership.
As an intern, he gained extensive experience in international student affairs, recruitment, admissions, and fostering global partnerships. His work with international organisations like the South Africa-Sweden University Forum and the BRICS Youth Association showcased his commitment to global engagement.
Renowned for his work ethic, Hakamela was recently recognised by the Green Technology Confucius Institute for his dedication. Among students, he earned the affectionate nickname “Mr. Food” for ensuring meals at his events.
Expressing his gratitude, Hakamela said, “I am deeply humbled and honoured to take on this role. I look forward to making a meaningful impact on the lives of international students at UNIVEN.”
UNIVEN Convocation President, Mr. Sylvester Motadi, also extended his congratulations: “Hakamela has always raised the UNIVEN flag high. We are confident he will continue to excel in his new role.”
The University of Venda celebrates Hakamela’s achievement and wishes him success in his new position.
