51-Year-Old Murder Suspect Arrested After Body of Missing 15-Year-Old Girl Found at Khalavha Plantation

A 51-year-old male suspect has been apprehended in connection with the brutal murder of a 15-year-old girl in the Siloam policing area, Vhembe District. The victim was reported missing on Monday, November 11, 2024, and her naked body was discovered in Khalavha plantation bushes the following day.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was last seen driving with the suspect on Monday, November 11, 2024, and never returned home. An intensive search operation was launched but yielded no results.
On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at approximately 7:30 a.m., the victim’s body was found with visible injuries suggesting rape. Emergency Medical Services personnel confirmed her death upon arrival.
Police have opened a murder case, with additional charges pending the outcome of the investigation.
The suspect is scheduled to appear before Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, November 14, 2024, facing murder charges.
