The arrests follow a business burglary that took place at Deerpark D3 Agricultural Site in Tzaneen on Wednesday, 19 February 2025, at approximately 23:00. The suspects allegedly broke into a storeroom where the farmer kept his property, stealing various items, including:

The matter was reported to Tzaneen SAPS, and an investigation was launched by Detective Sergeant Justice Vuma and the Tracing Team Commander, Warrant Officer Pienaar. Upon searching the suspect’s residence in Lusaka Village, officers recovered some of the stolen property, including:
A wave runner jet ski, a trailer, a four-wheel quad bike, a battery, four Toyota mag wheels with tyres, a trailer tyre and rims, and compressor. The estimated value of the recovered property is approximately R400,000.
While processing the initial suspect, officers received a phone call from additional suspects requesting transport. An operation was quickly arranged, leading to the arrest of six more suspects at Bindzulani Garage. During the subsequent investigation, officers recovered:
Eight Canadian solar panels valued at R80,000 and a Toyota Hilux bakkie, believed to have been used in the commission of the crime, valued at R350,000.
