A disturbing incident occurred on Wednesday in Dennilton, Limpopo, where Emergency Medical Service (EMS) personnel were attacked while transporting a renal patient to Ntwane village.
The official vehicle was stoned by a group of unruly community members, and on their return to the hospital, the personnel were violently attacked by another group from a tavern along the road. The attackers even opened the doors of the moving vehicle.
The Department of Health in Limpopo has strongly condemned the incident, expressing deep disappointment and urging communities to reject such behavior.
The department emphasized that EMS personnel must be able to operate safely and freely while responding to emergencies to effectively assist community members who rely on emergency services.
