
Lovemore Musoyi, a notorious Zimbabwean fugitive, has been rearrested in the mountains of Sekhukhune District. Musoyi, 32, had been evading law enforcement after escaping from police custody and attacking two police officers in Motetema.
He faces over 10 criminal charges, including murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, kidnapping, and possession of an unlicensed firearm, which were committed in various policing areas such as Elandskraal, Motetema, Dennilton, and Rakgoadi.
Musoyi’s luck ran out when the police, working with private security, tracked him down to his hideout in the mountains at Rakgoadi policing area on Friday, 3 January 2025. An unlicensed firearm was also seized during his arrest.
The suspect is expected to appear in various Magistrate’s courts within Sekhukhune District to face multiple charges, including escaping from lawful custody. Prior to his rearrest, the police had offered a R20,000 reward for information leading to his capture.
