A 20-year-old woman from Letsokwane, outside Polokwane, is appealing for a donation of a mobility device to restore her independence. Born with the ability to walk, she is now confined to a life of immobility due to a debilitating illness.
The young mother, who is studying at the University of Limpopo, thanks to the National Student Financial Aid Scheme, was hospitalized for seven months after being diagnosed with TB spine meningitis. Despite her determination to pursue her education, her condition has left her unable to walk, and she is now in dire need of a standard, battery-powered wheelchair to navigate the university campus.
With a one-year-nine-month-old child to care for, this young mother’s plea is not just for herself, but for her child’s future as well. She urges anyone with a compassionate heart to step in and assist her in regaining her mobility.
A donation of a suitable wheelchair would not only restore her independence but also enable her to continue her studies and build a better future for herself and her child.
