Simisana Dibakwane, a 41-year-old single mother from Praktiseer, outside Burgersfort, is at her wit’s end. She and her six children are forced to live in a cramped, electrified shack without proper running water and furniture. The family’s dire situation has been exacerbated by the pregnancies of her two eldest daughters, who are struggling to balance their education with their new responsibilities.
Despite her efforts to provide for her family, Simisana’s living conditions are a constant reminder of her powerlessness. “When it rains, our shack leaks, and we can’t sleep during winter because it’s freezing inside,” she explained. “We’ve been waiting for years for an RDP low-cost house to be built for us, but nothing has happened.”
Simisana’s story was recently shared on social media, and she received a generous donation of school uniforms, clothes, and a food hamper from Thabo Rantho, a businessman and Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) Sekhukhune Regional leader. While this donation has provided some temporary relief, Simisana’s family remains in desperate need of a decent home.
Simisana’s plea is simple: “I just want a house that will restore my dignity and provide a safe and comfortable environment for my children. I’m tired of living in a shack that’s not fit for human habitation.” Anyone willing to help Simisana and her family is urged to come forward and offer support.
