Pupils from Moukangoe and Dikotope secondary schools in Ga-Motodi villages, outside Burgersfort, Limpopo, were overjoyed after receiving donations of sanitary towels and stationery to enhance their matric results.
Mahlako Kgamedi, brand ambassador of Bashavhi Funerals, visited both schools to present the donations. Bashavhi Funerals aimed to address the plight of the underprivileged and improve their lives, thereby rectifying past imbalances.
The CEO of Bashavhi Funerals stated, “I put myself in their shoes and feel deeply for those without access to sanitary towels or stationery. The pain of pupils who miss school due to lack of sanitary towels during their menstrual cycle resonated with me.”
The CEO further noted, “Many pupils miss school unnecessarily due to lack of school shoes, sanitary towels, and other essential items, ultimately affecting their final year results.”
This noble gesture serves as an example of how to uplift the standard of living. Many families in the area struggle to make ends meet, relying on social grants. Bashavhi Funerals aims to restore dignity and confidence to school-going children.
“We cannot allow their circumstances to hold them back,” said Mpaketsane. “We are working to boost confidence and self-esteem among school pupils, reducing absenteeism. Education is a powerful tool that can help our people overcome their challenges, walk with pride, and restore their hope.”
