A Limpopo family is appealing for assistance in building a low-cost house. The family, consisting of three siblings, Dipolelo (19), Karabo (22), and Thoriso (17), from Ga-Motodi village, outside Burgersfort, are living in a dilapidated house without electricity.
The siblings, who lost their mother in 2012, are struggling to make ends meet, relying on their foster care social grant. They are forced to seek shelter in neighboring homes to study and prepare for exams.
The family’s current living situation is precarious, with their house leaking and falling apart. They are urging the government and business community to assist them in building a low-cost house, which would restore their dignity and provide them with a safe and secure living environment.
“We feel that our right to proper housing and shelter is being violated,” said Dipolelo. “We are tired of empty promises.”
