
A 58-year-old rapist, Aphane Fenkana Coccen, has been sentenced to 125 years imprisonment by the Polokwane High Court for facing eleven counts of rape. The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has welcomed the sentence.
The accused was found guilty of raping victims aged between 12 and 23 during 2010, 2011, and 2012, in various policing areas under the Sekhukhune district. In one incident, he threatened four young girls with a firearm, took them to a bushy terrain, and raped them.
The accused was arrested, positively linked to the incidents, and kept in custody until sentencing. The court sentenced him to 25 years imprisonment for each of the eleven counts of rape, with the sentences running concurrently, totaling 125 years imprisonment.
