
A 23-year-old man who had been on the run since February 2024 for allegedly pointing a firearm during a domestic violence incident has been arrested.
Police tracked down the suspect on Tuesday, 06 May 2025, at around 09:00 in Jamela Village. Acting on reliable intelligence, members of the Mopani Tracking Team, Highway Patrol, and Bolobedu Detectives moved swiftly and arrested the suspect without resistance.
Following the arrest, police searched his home in Shotong Village, where they found a hidden firearm. The suspect could not provide a valid firearm license and now faces an additional charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
He is due to appear in the Bolobedu Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 07 May 2025.
