Ritavi police in the Mopani District have opened an inquest after discovering the body of a man in the Nkowankowa industrial area on Thursday, 24 April 2025, around 16:30.
Community members alerted the police to the scene, where they found the body of an African male hanging from a tree. At the time, the deceased’s identity was unknown.
Following investigations, police identified the man as 41-year-old Hlayisani Victor Shivambu from Mavambe village outside Malamulele. Shivambu was wanted in connection with the brutal stabbing of his ex-girlfriend, 44-year-old Mihlothi Faith Shikhibana, which took place on Monday, 21 April 2025, in Nkowankowa.
Police have opened an inquest to determine the exact circumstances surrounding his death. Investigations are ongoing.
