Youth Helping Hands Foundation is a non-profit organisation in South Africa that helps children and young people in need. The foundation was created to bring back the spirit of Ubuntu by donating school uniforms to needy children. It also helps unemployed youth by involving them in activities like drama, poetry, singing, and dance. These activities keep them busy and away from alcohol and drug abuse.
The organisation was officially registered on 17 August 2022 with the registration number 280-518.
Gift Cossa, the co-founder, has a strong passion for helping vulnerable children and unemployed youth. He believes that giving them the right tools and resources can change their lives for the better. He got the ideas for this organisation from his former college, where he learned important skills to help achieve its goals.
One of the parents, Martha Ngwenya, shared her happiness after the foundation gave her child a school uniform. She said, “I am so grateful for the help and love the Youth Helping Hands Foundation has shown me. My child now looks like other children and is very happy. I hope they continue helping more families like mine.”
A young boy named Muhluri Madonsela, who received a uniform, also expressed his gratitude. He said, “I feel so lucky and blessed to be one of the children who got a uniform. Many kids wish for this opportunity, and now I feel confident and happy like other children.”
The foundation has big plans to continue helping the community. They want to open a computer academy where young people can learn useful skills after finishing school instead of staying at home without opportunities. They also want to support unemployed youth by giving them the skills to become self-reliant and independent, improving their lives.
To continue their mission, the foundation is asking for donations to help more children and youth in need.
