
In a heartfelt gesture of respect and solidarity, the Mayor of Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality, His Worship Cllr Eddie Maila, led a delegation to visit the family of the late Tseke Molapo, who tragically passed away while on a peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Molapo’s death has deeply affected the community, as he was a symbol of patriotism and service to the nation.
The Mayor, acknowledging the national significance of the tragedy, ensured that government protocols were followed during the visit, demonstrating the gravity of the situation. As the local sphere of government, Cllr Maila saw it fitting that the Municipality pay its respects, honoring Molapo’s dedication to his country.
In his visit, Cllr Maila expressed his condolences to the family, offering both emotional and material support. To assist with funeral preparations and alleviate some of the pressure on the grieving family, the Mayor made a generous contribution, donating two cows and essential groceries.
The Manager in the Office of the Mayor has also been assigned to the preparatory committee, which will focus on the logistics for the funeral, ensuring that all arrangements are in place to honor the fallen hero properly.
The Mayor has urged the residents of Fetakgomo Tubatse Municipality to come together in support of the family, offering their prayers and assistance to help them through this difficult time. The community’s collective strength is seen as crucial in helping the family overcome their grief.
As the Municipality mourns the loss of Tseke Molapo, His Worship Cllr Maila closed his remarks with a solemn wish: “May the spirit of our fallen hero Tseke Molapo rest in eternal peace.”
