A female police sergeant was robbed at her home in Lebowakgomo on 2 January 2025 at around 22:30. She arrived home from work and was met by three unknown male suspects in her yard, who pointed firearms at her and demanded she keep quiet.
The suspects disarmed her, took an undisclosed amount of cash, and locked her in the trunk of her car before fleeing on foot.
Luckily, her colleagues became concerned when she didn’t report for duty the next day and went to check on her. They found her locked in the trunk with a swollen right arm and rescued her using a spare key.
