The Polokwane High Court has handed down a significant sentence to Ronny Maluleke (34), convicted of multiple counts of rape, robbery with aggravating circumstances, and housebreaking with intent to rape.
He intruded into a victim’s home in May 2015, threatening two sisters with a firearm, raping one, and robbing them. He raped another victim in September 2016, after abducting her child. He used Facebook to lure victims (ages 17-46) between June 2020 and October 2021, promising employment, then raping them.
He has been sentenced to 98 years imprisonment for 19 counts of rape (95 years) and 12 counts of robbery with aggravating circumstances (58 years, concurrent). Another 4 years for 2 counts of housebreaking with intent to rape (concurrent with rape counts).
Sergeant Mokgadi Matjeka’s exceptional detective work led to Maluleke’s arrest in November 2021. He was denied bail and remained in custody until his conviction.
