Suspect who torched house now has alleged victims arrested. His surprise move exposes flaws in community justice at Mbaula village Ka-Mthimkhulu outside Giyani
A suspect implicated in the arson attack on Tshepo Jamani Seale’s house in Mbaula village has cleverly manipulated the situation to his advantage. After being subjected to mob justice and beaten, he cunningly filed an assault charge, resulting in the arrest of two family members, Tshepo and Simon Seale.
The pair is set to appear in the Giyani Magistrate’s Court tomorrow for a formal bail application, prompting the community to organise a picket in support of the duo.
In a surprising twist, the alleged arsonist has reportedly contacted his girlfriend, Ntlharhi, a family member, demanding that the family pay R10,000 to drop the charges.
According to reliable sources, the suspect has fled to Phalaborwa to evade authorities.
