Agreement Mkhari 
A family from Mareseleng village, just outside Burgersfort, was kidnapped during the early hours of Monday morning, 5 August 2025.
According to local sources, unknown men stormed into Mr. Malepe’s home at around 3am, forcefully taking him, his wife, and their two children. Two workers on the premises were reportedly tied up by the suspects and only managed to free themselves after some time before alerting nearby residents.
The suspects fled the scene in the family’s Volkswagen Polo, which had a tracking device installed. The vehicle was later traced and recovered in Motjatjiskloof near Tzaneen.
It is alleged that the suspects attempted to withdraw money using Mr. Malepe’s bank card but failed when the transaction was declined.
Police have launched an investigation. The suspects are still at large.
