A police forensic team has arrived at the KaBokweni Police Station near Mbombela as part of a disturbing murder investigation involving a 44-year-old woman who went missing over a year ago.
Sibongile Precious Nkosi disappeared in May last year. Her whereabouts remained unknown until recently, when her brother allegedly confessed to killing her and burying her in a shallow grave at their family home in KaBokweni.
Police say the suspect had kept the incident a secret for over a year before revealing the truth. He has since been arrested.
Forensic experts are now on the scene, working to exhume the body believed to be that of Sibongile. The family has been called in to assist in identifying the remains.
