Chongola Promotions, a company owned by renowned Xitsonga artist Doctor Sithole, has officially withdrawn its services from the upcoming grand opening of Diamond Walk Lifestyles in Xikukwani village.
The venue, which is still under construction, is owned by popular water drilling businessman Kokwani Chauke. It is scheduled to open on 18 April 2025 with an Easter Friday bash. Chongola Promotions was initially booked to provide entertainment services including a stage setup, music, and artists.
However, in the early hours of this morning, Doctor Sithole took to Facebook to inform fans that due to disagreements over booking finances, Chongola Promotions would no longer be part of the event.
Meanwhile, Kokwani Chauke posted pictures and went live on Facebook, showing alternative service providers setting up a stage, confirming that preparations are still underway.
The announcement sparked heated debates on social media. Some users questioned whether the venue is safe and ready, citing concerns such as fresh paint fumes posing health risks. Others criticized Chauke for including underage social media sensation Thabang in the event, accusing him of exploiting the young star to attract more attention.
Despite the backlash, the event is still scheduled to take place.
