
Limpopo police have arrested several suspects and recovered illegal firearms, ammunition, and drugs in a series of intelligence-driven operations.
On Monday, 31 March 2025, the Sekhukhune Tracking Team arrested two suspects in different locations. They were found with unlicensed guns, ammunition, and drugs worth R150,000. One of the suspects had allegedly fired shots at a local tavern in Dennilton. Police arrested him at his home and seized a firearm. He then led officers to another suspect in Siyabuswa, Mpumalanga, where another gun and more ammunition were found.
During the operation, police confiscated:
A .303 rifle with ammunition
A loaded magazine
Various other ammunition
Large amounts of drugs, including crystal meth, rocks, and nyaope
In another case in Rakgoadi, police recovered a firearm while investigating a rape suspect who had been on the run since March 2025.
Meanwhile, in a separate high-profile case, police arrested Masholoane Molotodi (46) for hijacking, kidnapping, and assaulting a 69-year-old man from Mphanama village. The victim was kidnapped on 23 March 2025 and later found in the bushes with his car. Sadly, he died from his injuries on 1 April 2025.
Molotodi was arrested on 28 March 2025 with the victim’s bank cards and other valuables. His charge has been upgraded to murder, and he appeared in the Sekhukhune Magistrate’s Court, where he was denied bail. More arrests are expected.
All suspects will appear in court for charges related to illegal firearms, drugs, and other serious crimes. Police investigations continue.
