
A disturbing incident occurred in Moma, Nampula province, Mozambique, on 8 January 2025. A police officer was killed and burnt beyond recognition by an angry mob. This violent act was reportedly in retaliation for the officer’s fatal shooting of three young people earlier that day.
According to reports, the three victims were leaving a gathering where they had been watching a game when the police officer opened fire, killing them.
The community, outraged by the officer’s actions, took the law into their own hands, resulting in the brutal killing and burning of the police officer.
