Mbuso Mandela, the grandson of former President Nelson Mandela, has been arrested again, this time for his alleged involvement in a hijacking drama. According to authorities, Mandela was among five suspects arrested at his house in Houghton, where a stolen vehicle and an unlicensed firearm were found.
The hijacking incident occurred on Louis Botha Avenue in Oaklands, where the suspects allegedly hijacked a white Toyota Corolla at gunpoint. The victim was held hostage before being dropped off in Benoni.
Mandela has been in trouble with the law before. In May 2022, he was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and drugs. He has also faced charges of rape and theft in the past.
The Houghton property, which was once the residence of Nelson Mandela, has been the subject of controversy in recent years. The house has fallen into disrepair, and there have been reports of neglect and disputes over its management.
