Royal AM FC players have allegedly boycotted training due to unpaid salaries, specifically their December paychecks. This development comes after the team’s owner, Shauwn Mkhize, also known as MaMkhize, faced tax evasion allegations. The South African Revenue Service (SARS) raided her home in November, claiming she owed R40 million in taxes.
However, it’s worth noting that Royal AM’s management has denied allegations of unpaid salaries. In a video statement, General Manager Richard Makhoba and club captain Samuel Manganyi claimed that players were paid their December salaries on time.
The situation is further complicated by SARS’ involvement in the team’s ownership. While it’s unclear how this will affect the team’s operations, it’s likely to add to the uncertainty surrounding Royal AM FC’s future.
