Reports have ermerged that The Kwaslondon Fun, Games & Musical Festival erupted into chaos in Makwassie near Wolmaransstad in the North-West after fans violently reacted to the no-show of headlining performer, award-winning musician Makhadzi. Despite being scheduled to take the stage at 10 PM, Makhadzi failed to appear, leaving thousands of fans waiting until 5 AM.
In a move that sparked further outrage, organisers attempted to placate the crowd by bringing out a Makhadzi impersonator. However, the plan backfired as attendees quickly realised the deception. Enraged fans began hurling bottles and stones, eventually setting the stage ablaze.
Emergency services and police were deployed to restore order. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported, although the impersonator sustained minor bruises during the melee.
The Kwaslondon Festival, held in Makwassie, Wolmaransstad (North West), aims to support underprivileged families and fund local bursaries. Unfortunately, this year’s unrest has tarnished the event’s charitable reputation, raising serious questions about the organisers’ handling of the situation.
