Seshego police under the Capricorn District have launched a manhunt after the partially burned body of an unknown man was discovered on the morning of Monday, 06 October 2025, near a high school at Extension 75B.
Police responded to a report of a murder at around 08:00. Upon arrival, they found the body of an unknown African male lying on his back next to the road. The victim had visible facial injuries, and parts of his body appeared to have been partially burned. He was wearing a blue T-shirt with the word “Jou” printed on the left chest.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the man might have been assaulted and set alight by community members in what appears to be an act of mob justice. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and the victim’s identity has not yet been established.
Police are appealing to anyone with information that could help identify the deceased or lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact Detective Warrant Officer Calvin Magoro on 079 780 3790.
